Serving as Your Denver Driving School Since 2010

Welcome to Learn to Drive Colorado. We’re happy you’ve come to our employment page. We’re proud of our team and the high quality of services we provide day in and day out all of which couldn’t be done without our hard-working, dedicated employees. Depending on what’s happening currently in our company, we may be looking for Denver Driving Instructors (both classroom and Behind-the-Wheel) and Driver’s License Examiners. All of our Colorado driving instructors and examiners are certified by the Colorado Department of Testing and Education and must submit to a background check and a yearly driving records check. As well, we have a comprehensive 50-hour training program for our Behind-the-Wheel instructors based on our Tangibles. These are ways of executing driving maneuvers using cues both inside and outside the car that translate to any vehicle so a driver feels confident moving from vehicle to vehicle. Additionally, our Behind-the-Wheel program is akin to a driving boot camp where, in just six hours, we give teens and adults a solid foundation in defensive, safe driving. We’re not just “along for the ride”.

Denver, Colorado Driving Instructors / License Examiners

We’re looking for employees who are serious and passionate about Colorado driver safety and driver education. These positions require the right fit as the employee must spend a good amount of time learning our system, understanding the Colorado Driver Handbook rules and regulations, and feel comfortable driving in, occasionally, stressful situations. If you choose to become a driver’s license examiner, there is additional training provided by the Colorado Department of Testing and Education. (All training is paid for and provided on the job.) It helps if you have a good sense of humor and are comfortable interacting with both teens and adults in a calm manner to facilitate the learning process.

A background in teaching will help. Experience in safety education is also a plus. Previous experience as teachers, police officers/instructors or instructors in technical field of study make good candidates, active or retired. Due to the nature and duration of the training and professional development, we’re looking for folks who want to do this work and will tackle it head on and make a commitment! It’s not difficult but it does require strong dedication. It is an incredibly rewarding profession!

This position may rotate may between Denver drive tests, classroom instruction and Behind-the-Wheel instruction depending on the week. If you like variety, you’ll get it in this job. Perfect for someone who is semi-retired but wants to stay active and likes working with teens and adults. You’ll be working out of both our Lakewood and Golden locations each week.

If you’re interested, please feel free to call Matt Van Wormer at 303-404-3880 or submit your resume via email to matt@learntodrivecolorado.com.
