What to Expect on Test Day
The driver’s test can be intimidating. But you can think of it as showing your ability to operate a vehicle safely and follow the rules of the road. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect and how to prepare for it:
The Driver's Test
The state driving test typically consists of two parts: a written knowledge exam and a behind-the-wheel road test. The written test covers topics like traffic signs and signals, right-of-way rules, and Colorado driving laws. The road test covers your ability to perform basic maneuvers, understanding of traffic regulations, and your ability to operate the vehicle safely.
Preparation Is Key
Feeling prepared is the best way to approach the driver’s test with confidence. Here are some tips to ensure you’re ready for your test day:
This resource outlines all essential knowledge for both the written exam and road test. Familiarize yourself with traffic signs and signals, right-of-way rules, and safe driving practices.
Practice your driving skills on any road with your Colorado Permit. An individual with a State of Colorado driver’s license must sit in the front seat of the vehicle you operate.
Being well-rested will ensure you’re alert and focused during the written and practical parts of the exam.
Community Driving School offers many opportunities for aspiring drivers. Our in-car training allows drivers to practice with an instructor, ensuring they’re prepared for the road test and beyond.
With the right preparation, you’ll walk into test day knowing what to expect.
